The wild animal adventures continued with a visit to the Lion Park, which offered the opportunity to pet lion cubs. The rain only slightly dampened the mood, as the Calbos and Trego kids shifted their attention to the giraffes, meerkats, hyenas, cheetahs, and other wild cats as they waited for the lion cubs to return to their cages. After a frenzied visit to the cubs, it was time for the paparazzi to turn their attention to the adult lions that had recently been fed, peering from the safety of cars with the windows mostly closed. As the Calboses parted ways to return to the States, the kids and Mom continued their safari adventure with close-up interactions with Joseph’s favorite animal – the giraffe. Coerced by food pellets, the giraffe craned its neck through the sun roof, into the car, and Naomi even got to claim the privilege (?) of kissing a giraffe. The whole family shared their tales with Jonas via Skype and captured the closest thing to a family portrait, thanks to video calls.
